So what is an amazing beautiful not too old machine

Haha gotcha with that title

I guess my second love is 939, dual core & 64 bit computing. Tad expensive now, but leaning that way.

I've been asked to put together a beast of a thing. So open to idea's........but it's more about looks than raw power.
That total pRon computer that should have been built, will be now...........stay tuned.

I hear p4's are all the rage though ;)

Suppose it depends what type of look you going for, could do a throwback to the lanning days where everyone had cold cathodes and led fans out the wazoo, coupled with like a uv reactive dfi board, water cooled with uv reactive fluids, antec lanboy with window.

I second the 939 notion. AM2 might just scrape in, but despite being the same era Socket 775 just doesn't seem retro to me, so maybe it's also too new.

What is the pinnacle 939 or 940 system you can build? Opteron 185 with 8GB, SSD and GTX295?

Well yes both answers are in the ball park of this idea

Feast your eyes on the Red Black Xaser6. Now a 2 year search " apart from ebay NEW $429 alloy " only come up with the steel version.
It will have to do. A 25kg behemoth.

If you know me & I'm sure you do, I have a decent stash. My friend was told to bring that case today...................
