Hey Guys,
Sorry I've been a bit quiet lately, work has been crazy busy.
Lately I've been doing some non-retro stuff to mix it up a little.
I recently built a solar weather system based on an ESP8266 board which has been fun, I should document that.
Yesterday I built up a crazy VM network and did a doc about it here:

What have you guys been up to?!
Non-Retro Activities
Re: Non-Retro Activities
I moved house recently, so more brawn than brains required. The upside is that I get a reasonable study to myself. Pic of the start of a long process below
Re: Non-Retro Activities
Nice bookshelves matey. Look really solid. Suffer badly here from inadequate storage
haha spot the end of a G5

Hehe one of quite a few G5/Mac Pros - getting them for about $5-10 each! Mac Pros are a bit more though. This is about 20% of the hoard.
Those bookshelves are very solid, bespoke cabinetry - fully built-in. One of the previous owners was a psychiatrist, so guessing this was his study
the shelves aren't deep enough for systems though, so it'll be software/games/books only.

Re: Non-Retro Activities
Perfect depth to be filled with classic big box games, that Dark Sun is looking lonely
Re: Non-Retro Activities
That was my first thought as well. I've had similar bookshelves too at my parent's house and they looked so neat filled with game boxes. I've moved out but my collection is still there.
Re: Non-Retro Activities
Sometimes I forget all about these forums!
Sadly I've had to move on from that place, the landlord wanted to move back in ... or something. New place has plenty of space, but not a nice big built-in shelf unit like that one. Anyway, before I left I did get to fill it up - here's some pics:

Re: Non-Retro Activities
The pain of moving. Cheap bookshelves and a long bench to put various setups on. Just don't use fixtures! Labelled tea chest sized boxes I find are good and stack well. Displaying your stuff is always a compromise. My space is a compromise between use and storing for others. Soon...
